When I brought the portrait back today... They were all very admiring of the excellent restoration job that Wiebold Studio did on the portrait and frame.

It's HOT, HOT, HOT

June 19, 2010

This weekend we are in Kentucky at the Antique Show at Shaker Village in Pleasant Hill. We had a few thunderstorms early this morning but those have passed and the sun is shinning. When I say it's HOT, I'm not only referring to the temperature, I am referring to this show! This years dealers have brought some amazing treasures with them and there are plenty of shoppers scooping them up.

If you haven't come to this show before I encourage you to make a day of it. You are sure to enjoy the show and the sunshine. You can tour the village which is remarkable and if you get hungry the food is amazing. I was fortunate enough to enjoy the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans last night and I highly recommend it. Especially the green beans.

Don't forget we will be at the show all weekend to provide you with ballpark estimates and complimentary transport for you art and antiques back to the studio.

I look forward to seeing you.

Come meet us in Detroit

June 4, 2010

The 26th Annual Christ Church Grosse Pointe Antiques Show is in full swing. I have just taken a brief opportunity to look around and there are certainly some gems for sale, figuratively and literally. As well, we will be here for the entire weekend to consult with you about the restoration of your art and antiques. Just this morning we have worked with a number of clients and will be transporting back to the studio a lovely wall mirror, a poor broken Herend moose and a plate that brings back some very fond memories of it's owners college days.

Looking forward just a few weeks, we will be at Shaker Village, Pleasant Hill in Kentucky. Start planning now to visit that show, it is certainly one of my favorites. You may want to make a weekend of it or just visit for the ambiance and a great meal.

Do you live around Detroit, MI and need an appraisal?

May 10, 2010

Here at Wiebold we receive thousands of phone calls and one of the most often asked questions is "How can I get an appraisal?" Often our clients would like to understand the value of their item before they decide to pursue restoration or conservation. Wiebold conservators, being professionals, do not provide appraisals and refer our clients to various professional appraisers and auction houses throughout the Cincinnati area. However, if you live elsewhere and use our services you may wonder where the best place for you get an appraisal is. Should you live in the Detroit area a great opportunity, as well as antique show and opportunity to visit with Wiebold is coming right up! The Christ Church Antiques Show will be held June 4th - June 6th. In addition to having the opportunity to bring your items for consultation with Wiebold Studio you can meet with an appraiser during the appraisal clinic. The clinic will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 from, 10:00am - 1:00pm it is
included in the price of admission with a 3 items per person limit.

For more information about this show visit: http://www.christchurchgp.org/antiques/index.html

We look forward to meeting with you in Detroit to discuss your restoration and conservation needs. If you have questions don't hesitate to give us a call.

What a weekend!

March 18, 2010

The Indianapolis Art and Antiques Show and the Bluegrass Trust Antique and Garden Show were both held over this past weekend. Wiebold has exhibited at the Indianapolis show for more than a decade and we always enjoy this show. This year was no exception. This was the first year that we exhibited at the Bluegrass Antique and Garden Show in Lexington. The Lexington show was beautiful and we were delighted with the interest in our services. At both shows our clients brought numerous items for consultations. We met with clients about Tiffany lampshades, family portraits, reverse paintings on glass, figurines and much more. Hopefully we can meet with more of our clients this year at upcoming shows such as The Christ Church Antiques Show in Gross Pointe, Michigan and The Antique Show at Shaker Village, Pleasant Hill in Kentucky.

New Website Launch

March 4, 2010

We are very excited to launch our newly designed and updated website. You will find more information, helpful tips and more before and after pictures. We have worked closely with Mark Sund of Sund & Company and think that you will be as happy with the results as we are. Take a few moments to check out the new portrait miniatures page, it now features illustrations to better help you understand the make up of a portrait miniature locket. Also, I am just thrilled with the new Interiors & Statuary section. This section highlights some of the jobs we have had the privilege of working on out side of the studio. You may have seen our work in the Cathedral Basilica in Covington, KY or outside of the Germania Building in downtown Cincinnati, OH. We will continue to update the site and this blog. Oh, I almost forgot, watch this blog and our Facebook posts for special online only opportunities.
